Thomas E. Galas, FLMI, ALHC - Chief Executive Officer
Tom has worked in the health insurance industry since the mid-1980's, having served
as Assistant Vice President of Small Group Insurance for Central States Health &
Life Co. of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, and Vice President of Claims for Western Fidelity
Insurance Company in Fort Worth, Texas. Tom was the architect of the Small Group
Insurance Administration division at CSO, where he was responsible for building
the Underwriting, Claims and Policy Owner Service departments from the ground up.
Tom holds a masters degree in Business Administration, along with industry designations of Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Associate Life and Health Claims (ALHC).
Dwight D. Mankin - President
Dwight has spent more than 20 years in the health insurance industry. Dwight is
the former CEO of TrestleTree, Inc, a health and wellness/ disease management organization.
Mr. Mankin also has served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Avidyn
Health, a subsidiary of Fiserv, Inc., Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of
ValueCHECK, Inc., a utilization review, case management and disease management company
and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ppoONE.com, a start-up e-health
B2B software company.
Dwight is a graduate of Hastings College in Nebraska, with an MBA from the University of Dallas and a master’s in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Karen E. Lurkowski,
FLMI, ALHC - Executive Vice President
Karen has over 20 years experience in the health insurance industry. Prior to NCN,
Karen held management positions with Central States Health and Life Co. of Omaha,
Western Fidelity Insurance Company and Aon Insurance Group of Texas. Her claims
management experience has been instrumental when designing cost containment tools
and reports from the payers point of view.
Karen has a degree in computer science from Northwest Missouri State University and holds several insurance industry designations.
Steve Wagoner, CPA - Vice
President and CFO
Steve has spent more than 17 years in the financial management of HMO’s, PPO’s,
and Third Party Administrators. Steve previously held positions with North Texas
Healthcare Network, Harris Methodist Health System, Travelers Health Network and
Aetna Health Plans.
Steve is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a BS in Business Administration and obtained his CPA in 1990. He is an active member of the Texas Society of CPAs, the AICPA and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Nancy Connaway – Vice
President of Administration
Nancy is a former Executive Vice President of TrueChoice USA, building its start-up
organization and network relationships in 45 states outside the state of Texas.
While in this role, she also served as consultant to Texas True Choice and its implementation
of the Children's Health Insurance EPO contract (CHIP EPO) for the state of Texas.
The CHIP EPO covers over 100,000 children located in rural counties in the state
of Texas.
Prior to joining TCUSA and Texas True Choice, Nancy co-founded Marquis Management Group of Texas specializing in operational consulting for managed care companies, PPO start-ups, mergers and acquisitions.
From 1991 through 2001, Nancy served as President of ProAmerica Managed Care, a for-profit PPO operating in 49 states. She has served in leadership roles in both national and regional trade associations including the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations, the Texas Hospital Association and the Texas Home Health Association.
Nancy holds a law degree from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree
from Texas Woman's University.
Susan R. Dominy, ALHC -
Vice President of Client Services
With over 15 years in the healthcare industry, Susan brings tremendous value and
variety to the overall experience level of the management staff, having worked on
the provider side of the health insurance industry as the administrator of skilled
nursing facilities. Susan’s career also includes the implementation and management
of cost containment programs for a number of national carriers, self-insured groups,
and third party administrators.
Susan is a 1991 graduate of Baylor University and holds the designation of Associate
Life and Health Claims (ALHC).
Lisa Jamsen – Vice President
of Strategic Product Development
Lisa brings over 25 years of healthcare experience to the organization, including
tenure with Mutual of Omaha and Health Data Management Corporation (HDM). While
at Mutual of Omaha, Lisa held management positions within the Group Contracts, Underwriting
and Corporate EDI departments. She was a founding member of HDM, a healthcare transaction
company that processes over one million transactions per week for healthcare organizations
across the country. She was responsible for the Product Development and Information
Technology teams, while also playing an integral role in other areas of the organization,
including Operations, Sales and Service.
Lisa graduated from Edison College and holds the industry designation of HIAA.
Tom Pusic - Vice President
of Business Development
Tom has over 23 years of healthcare experience. Tom has worked with healthcare organizations
within a variety of initiatives including strategic studies, business process improvements,
technology / systems integration, and organizational structuring. Prior to NCN,
Tom built and managed healthcare claims systems for EDS, consulted on numerous large-scale
projects at the 'Big 5' firms of Anderson Consulting and Deloitte Consulting, directed
products at a claims clearinghouse, and ran his own consulting firm for projects
at payer organizations.
Tom is a graduate of Penn State University and resides in Omaha, where he manages
the regional office.
John Weymer - Vice President
of Operations
John has spent more than 30 years in the managed health care and cost containment industry. John
is the former President and CEO of Avidyn Health, a company he co-founded and that was subsequently
acquired by Fiserv, Inc. He has also held several executive leadership positions at CIGNA,
including Executive VP and General Manager of their Intracorp Group Health Division and VP of CIGNA's
national PPO business unit. He worked for United Health Group's Evercare Division, where as Executive
Director, he started and led the North Texas Medicare Advantage and Medicaid HMO business unit. He
has also served as President of J Weymer & Associates, a health care consulting firm.
John is a graduate of the College of Wooster in Ohio and holds a Masters Degree from the University of
Missouri-Columbia.
